Customizing the Experience
While WandStore handles personalization automatically, there are several ways you can shape and refine the experience for your customers.
Product catalog quality
Section titled “Product catalog quality”The most impactful thing you can do is maintain a well-organized product catalog in Shopify. WandStore uses your product data to make recommendations, so better data means better personalization.
Tips for better results
Section titled “Tips for better results”- Use accurate product types — Assign each product to a specific type (e.g., “Moisturizer” instead of “Skincare”). This helps WandStore understand category preferences.
- Add descriptive tags — Tags like “vegan”, “bestseller”, or “summer-collection” give WandStore additional signals for matching products to customers.
- Write clear product titles — Descriptive titles help the AI generate relevant messaging.
- Keep inventory accurate — WandStore checks stock levels so it doesn’t recommend out-of-stock items.
- Set competitive pricing — Price data feeds into persona detection, helping WandStore identify Deal Hunters vs. premium shoppers.
Block placement
Section titled “Block placement”Where you place the WandStore Personalization block affects the customer experience:
- Homepage hero area — Maximum visibility. Customers see personalization immediately after signing in.
- Below the fold — A subtler approach. The top of the page remains your standard design, with personalization appearing as they scroll.
- Multiple sections — You can add the block to multiple templates (homepage, collection pages, product pages) for deeper personalization.
To change placement, edit your theme in Online Store > Themes > Customize and move or add the WandStore Personalization block.
Cache management
Section titled “Cache management”Use WandStore’s cache-management workflows when you need to refresh or replace personalized content:
- Clear and regenerate key customers — Useful after major merchandising changes or campaign launches.
- Refresh after store updates — Brand, promotion, or product updates may warrant new generated storefront content.
- Use cache strategically — Cached storefronts improve speed on return visits, while regeneration keeps content aligned with current store data.
Encouraging sign-ins
Section titled “Encouraging sign-ins”Since personalization only works for signed-in customers, encouraging sign-ins increases the reach of personalization:
- Highlight account benefits — Let customers know they’ll get a personalized experience when they sign in.
- Streamline the sign-in process — Use Shopify’s customer account options to make signing in quick and easy.
- Don’t force sign-in — WandStore is designed to be invisible to anonymous visitors. Forcing account creation before purchase can hurt conversion.
What you can’t customize (yet)
Section titled “What you can’t customize (yet)”Some aspects of personalization are currently handled automatically:
- Persona assignment — This is computed from purchase history. You can’t manually assign personas to customers.
- AI layout decisions — The specific layout and design choices within each persona are generated by AI.
- Content tone — The messaging style is determined by the persona.
These areas may become configurable in future updates.
