Installing the Shopify App
Installing WandStore takes just a few clicks from the Shopify App Store. This page walks you through the process and explains the permissions the app needs.
Installation steps
Section titled “Installation steps”- Open the Shopify App Store from the Shopify admin panel, or visit the WandStore listing directly.
- Click the Install button on the WandStore app listing.
- Shopify will show a permissions screen. Review the requested access and click Install app.
- The merchant is redirected to the WandStore dashboard, which opens inside the Shopify admin.
That’s it — the app is installed. Next, add the theme block to start showing personalized content.
What permissions does WandStore need?
Section titled “What permissions does WandStore need?”When WandStore is installed, Shopify asks the merchant to approve certain permissions. Here’s what each one is for:

| Read customers | To access purchase history and build shopping profiles for personalization |
| Write customers | To store personalization metadata on customer records |
| Read orders | To analyze what customers have bought and how often |
| Read products | To know what products are in the catalog for recommendations |
| Read discounts | To surface active promotions and discount information in personalized layouts |
| Read themes | To detect the active theme and ensure block compatibility |
WandStore does not modify products, orders, or discount rules.
The WandStore dashboard
Section titled “The WandStore dashboard”After installation, the WandStore dashboard is accessible at any time from the Shopify admin under Apps > WandStore. The dashboard shows:
- Personalization status — whether the app is active and generating content
- Customer list — signed-in customers with their persona and generation status
- Settings — configuration options for personalization behavior
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- Shopify plan: Any paid Shopify plan (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, or Plus)
- Theme compatibility: WandStore works with any Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme that supports app blocks
- Customer accounts: The store must have customer accounts enabled (Settings > Customer accounts)
Enabling customer accounts
Section titled “Enabling customer accounts”WandStore personalization is triggered when customers sign in. Customer accounts must be enabled in the Shopify settings:
- Go to Settings > Customer accounts in the Shopify admin.
- Choose either Classic customer accounts or New customer accounts.
- Save your changes.
Customers will now see a sign-in option on the store, which activates WandStore personalization.
