Audiences
Audiences decide who should see a generated experience.
Audience types
Section titled “Audience types”| Audience | Description |
|---|---|
| Default visitor | A general audience for a widget or surface. Useful for global widgets and fallbacks. |
| Customer | A specific Shopify customer selected from the Audiences search. |
| Cohort | A group of customers created from a Shopify customer tag. |
Customers
Section titled “Customers”The Customers table in Audiences lets you search by name, email, or tag. Each customer row shows order count, amount spent, and surface coverage.
Use customer audiences when:
- You want a one-to-one generated widget.
- You are testing with a known customer account.
- You want to create a high-touch experience for an important shopper.
Customer-specific generation can use customer profile signals such as tier, spend, order count, Shopify customer tags, and recent order context when available.
Cohorts
Section titled “Cohorts”Cohorts are group audiences built from Shopify customer tags. WandStore does not create an independent customer list for a cohort; it reads the selected Shopify tag and uses customers with that tag as the audience.
Use cohorts when:
- The group already exists in Shopify through tags.
- You want one campaign concept for many shoppers.
- You want to target VIPs, wholesale customers, launch buyers, subscription customers, regional groups, or seasonal campaign lists represented by a tag.
Create a tag cohort
Section titled “Create a tag cohort”- In Shopify admin, add a shared customer tag to the customers you want in the cohort, such as
spring-vip,wholesale, orwinback-may. - Open Apps > WandStore > Audiences.
- In Create cohort, enter a name and optional description.
- Choose the Shopify customer tag.
- Click Create.
- Open Studio and choose that cohort as the audience.
If no tags appear, create or sync customer tags in Shopify first, then reopen the cohort form.
Surface coverage
Section titled “Surface coverage”Audiences shows whether a customer or cohort already has homepage or widget experiences. Coverage badges help you see:
- Whether any versions exist.
- Whether widget coverage exists.
- Whether live widget coverage exists.
- When the latest version was generated.
Use this before generating another version, especially when several widgets exist on the same theme page.
Customer tiers
Section titled “Customer tiers”WandStore computes customer tiers as context for generation:
| Tier | Rule |
|---|---|
| new | Fewer than 2 orders and under $1,000 lifetime spend |
| casual | 2-5 orders |
| regular | 6-15 orders |
| vip | 16 or more orders, or at least $1,000 lifetime spend |
Tiers are automatic profile signals. Cohort creation is based on Shopify tags, not manual tier selection.
